Is it just me, or are there more closet Freepers on DU?

I've seen an increase in people here with low-post counts, often a post from a newbie doesn't seem like something a Democrat would say...in the way it's phrased.

I've noticed this increase ever since Freepers were talking about having a "coming out party" if electionnight if * wins.

We need to be careful of who's posting here.

5. It's hard to describe

but the way some of these low-posters speak, they seem uncomfortable in talking here, and don't elaborate much on their arguements. They also post in flame wars more often than decent threads.

Seriously though...yes I have a low post count, but I don't post here often (wasn't there someone on here who just got his 100th post after being a member here for two years?) I read posts almost every day to get a feel of the place. I like DU, even though I don't agree with what some members believe in.

18. The numbers seem strange

When you look at how many people have registered, versus how many actually post, there must be throngs of DUers with "nothing" to say.
I keep seeing the same 7 or 8 dozen names here. Granted, I don't have a lot of posts myself - for years it never occurred to me that the internet could be used for this kind of thing, so I only discovered DU a few months ago when a friend told me about it. Come to think of it, I never see his moniker on any threads, either.

21. One concern I have about this thinking...

The only thing I'm concerned about is this: I've seen many instances lately where a person posts a legtimate question, concern, or alternative point of view, and simply because somone else doesn't like it, they attack him/her as a freeper. I feel like this is an unfair argumentation tactic, and I would prefer that we use caution in our labeling. Calling yourself a "Democrat" is a inclusive label, that includes a lot of divers opinions centered around some shared core ideals. Agreement in essentials, but freedom in non-essentials.

I know I have very few posts, but was not aware this website even existed until a few months ago. You must also realize that not everyone has as much time to spend here as they would like, nor think it is necessary to post every time they visit. I do have to reserve some of my internet time to check out Buzzflash! Maybe you should stop being so judgemental/paranoid of those of us with few posts. I would be willing to bet I have was voting Democrat while you were still watching Saturday morning cartoons.:hi:
