CIA vs. White House: Pop Quiz
Who said this, and when? (Hint: It wasn't this year)

We did find evidence, upon evidence, upon evidence where the CIA said: "No, don't do it." The State Department or the White House said, "We're going to do it." The CIA was much more professional and had a far deeper reading on the down-the-road implications of some immediately popular act than the executive branch or administration officials...The CIA never did anything the White House didn't want. Sometimes they didn't want to do what they did.

It was Rep. Otis Pike, of Pike Committee fame, in 1976.

I hadn't realized that the White House had such a long history of ignoring CIA advice. Coulda guessed, I suppose, but I didn't really think about it until I read that quote.

ON EDIT: How'd you get so smart, Wetzelbill? Good job!

4. That's cool
You still get points for being resourceful. I wish every American knew how to use a search engine--and would, regularly.
