Prior to this morning edition of Washington Journal on C-span there was a segment where Paul Wolfowitz was answering questions put to him by the students of Georgetown University. One of the questioners made the statement that he had “stood against Saddam Hussein during the time that the United States government was backing him with military support.” Wolfowitz responded something to the effect that central thought of the students statement was “that he was against this country (the USA).”
What occurred to me was “since when is being against the actions and values of the Neo-cons the same as being against the values and actions of the United States. I for one hate what “they” the Neo-cons stand for and where “they” the Neo-cons are taking this country. For me “they” the Neo-cons are the ones who are betraying the values of the American people, “they” the Neo-cons are the ones who need to be called to task for subverting the values to which America has dedicated itself.
They the Neo-cons, Bush, Chaney, Wolfowitz are the people who need to answer the charge, “you hate for which America stands.”
