On the occasion of Dan Rather's 72nd. birthday
I wish you would leave that Viacom-owned fascist trap called CBS, get out there on the speaking circuit and say what we all know you'd like to say about what's going on in this country. I still think that under that corporate owned exterior, you'd really like to be Howard Beale. Maybe I'm hoping for too much. Anybody else like to send Dan Halloween birthday wishes?

1. network!
A mention of Howard Beale!
I just watched Network a couple of nights ago for the first time in a long while and it was downright presciently scary.

10. Yes
Rather drove Nixon crazy. It was great drama seeing Dan stand up to Tricky Dick's attempted intimidations durring press conferences.

12. My favorite Dan Rather quote
During the Watergate mess Rather was in Houston at a press conference and a woman came up to him and said "Why don't you go home Dan Rather?" He looked at her and said, "Madam, I AM home."
