Make The Left Put Up Or Shut Up!

Five days ago, I logged this post on the League Of Liberals (of which I am a member) website, urging us to band together and to contact some of the left's new "think tanks". Well, I just recently sent this letter to the newly formed Center For American Progress (CAP) urging them to take a look at the blogosphere and see what we have to offer. All of us here work hard on our blogs and we do it pretty much all out of our own pocket. The right wing, on the other hand, makes sure their writers are well-paid for their work.

These left-wing organizations are supposed to be a counter to those, and I urge you not only to write your own letter telling them about the untapped resources of the blogosphere, but to spread the word about this to every left-leaning site you know. Let's make this a massive letter-writing campaign so that these people know just how strong our support is.

If you are a blogger, you should post their own letters and link all of our letters to their sites. If you belong to a blogger alliance such as the League, you should urge them to do the same. Get on the comments sections of the really big sites like Bartcop, Atrios and Daily Kos and spread the word. Let's force the issue and see if the CAP is willing to put its money where it's mouth is.

And let's not stop there: I made a start but I'm sure you all know of other organizations similar to the CAP. Get their email addresses and start a letter campaign like this one to all of them.

We are becoming a force in the political landscape. We still have a long way to go, but let's start flexing our muscles and see what we can do.

1. I am somewhat skeptical of the

Center for American Progress. I want to see more of what it does. However, my main concern is that they could try to represent us even though we don't believe in their mandate(whatever it is). I just hope it is not an offshoot of the DLC.

They mention security, but what about foreign policy.

I'll give them a chance to develop their new organization.

And they could use a better website as well. PNAC's one seems better.

3. I share your skepticism

Which is why I want as many of you as possible to write a letter.

They talk the talk, I want to see if they walk the walk.

If they get a few hundred letters, will they ignore them? Or will they make an effort to include us?

This is what we have to find out, but you have to do more than just sit back and wait. As I said, force the issue.

As for the Dems, especially those in power, they/we all need to do what the pukes do to us all the time if we're going to win anything ever again.

If Gore was prez on 9/11 and 9/11 happened, Gore would have been impeached, burnt at the stake, beheaded, blood drained to feed pigs, and so on.

Where were the Dems, apart from playing "injured innocent baby" along with President-select Fascist* who knew damn well what he allowed to take place?

The pukes whined at the Wellstone "memorial" when only Rick Kahn deserves the blame (and he sure as hell does...). (And remember the Wellstone memorial when Reagan dies and they go over the top and nobody says a fucking thing. x( ) WHY THE HELL DON'T WE GRILL THE REPUKES WITH AS MUCH VENOM AS THEY ALWAYS DO TO US? That's why they win in the end, they make themselves to be the more dignified party when we all know they're the degenerate party.

We all know of at least one incident where repukes will kick our ass verbally, yet we never do the same to them. It's no wonder the repukes have more than 30% of the public following them and it makes you pity those who are so fed up they don't even vote knowing it's all pointless bickering in the end (maybe they realize it's the corporations who've usurped the power too?)!

So, yeah, it's time for ALL Democrats/liberals/whatever to stand up. We liberals, the ones who will stand up against the Bush/corporate fascist regime and all who support him/them, need to do what repukes have been doing to us for decades - point out angrily every time they do something. Do as they do instead of capitulate.

If the Democratic party doesn't want to lose more voters to those ghastly Greens (who are to blame for nothing, get over it folks), then they'd better be speaking up and proud. (if the Greens had money and gave the impression they could win, I wonder just how popular they'd be...)
