they always have been. Always will be. Look at the Republicans in 2000, it was pretty ugly between Bush and McCain, but once there's a candidate both parties generally rally together to beat the other.

4. No way. The spectre of Lame-Duck Bunnypants will pull us together

The fact that his Imperium is the worst leadership (I cannot call it a pResidency because it isn't one) perhaps in the entire history of America.

People will pull together, at least the Dems will and more than a few Greens, to defeat Bunnypants* (if that is possible considering the Third World state of Amerikan voting systems).

That is my prediction.

It is also my ferverent hope.

1. ANY Dem candidate will improve on what we have now.

2. MOST DUers do NOT participate in the bashing threads. You have a false impression of most of the 30,000 plus people here.

Ihave seen, though, some supporters of some candidates at DU say they won't support anyone but their guy.

I know I have felt that way at times. In fact, I feel that way often. About as often as his opponents distort my guy's record, attack and lie about him, which right now is on a daily basis. But when push comes to shove I'll vote ABB, no matter how big of a clothespin I need.

Know that our very future as a democracy is at stake in the next election. I think it will bring more people to the polls.

Which means that the candidates should employ many more poll-watchers to make sure that voters do not become disenfranchised or turned away by repub cronies.

I also am ABB, but I'm more worried that Florida's fiasco won't be limited to just Florida next time around... And I wonder if his approval rating is an utter fabrication. If it goes up around election time, and he gets elected with a higher approval rating, fewer people will question the outcome of the election.
