King George promises to "stay the course" in the US
George, King of England, announced again that he would keep British troops in the rebellious American colonies, despite military defeats and attacks on British officials. American rebels hold 12 of the 13 colonies, and are killing soldiers and hanging officials.
The King said: "Hey, if we leave our American colonies, we lose credibility! If we do, should we free the Irish?" he guffawed.
