I guess it's possible that Bush could beat Clark, but I don't see how. All we have to do is nominate Clark and sit back and enjoy watching Clark beat Bush over the head about 911, Afghanistan, Iraq, North Korea, and foreign policy in general.

We can then spend our energy out in the districts making sure liberal Democratic candidates win Congress. Seems like a win/win to me.

1. Clark may have entered too late
How about Dean/Clark? They compliment each other and I think they are an unbeatable team...

I think we can get at least 12 from the two. Clark\Dean '04

2. I agree
I firmly believe that Clark is the only one that has a shot at beating Bush. Dean will carry zero southern states. Clark has the south, the north, the swing voters, the military, he's got it all.

11. Complete Agreement
You have my absolute agreement. Not only do I believe that Clark can beat Bush, I believe that Clark alone can beat Bush.

3. Don't forget the $200 million Bush will have raised by then.
$200 million buys a lot of inane ads that seem to sway the public regardless of their cheese factor. And a lot of push polling.

I think winning back either the House and/or the Senate is very important, as well. If we do win the WH, a Republican Congress would no doubt be very bitter and obstructionist.

4. Yeah, but...
...if Clark gets the military voters behind him, watch out GWB. They have identified themselves as the SOLE protectors of the flag - and if the soldiers who are coming back and their families start pulling out of the Bush column, the GOP "moral" authority will deplete quickly. "Patriotism" was their platform, remember?

And those are lovely big coattails for Dems to ride back in on. :)

6. I agree re: the military voters.
I think they are a great unknown. I think that BushCo overestimates the lock they think they have on military voters. From media reports, it seems as though a lot of them are pretty unhappy with the whole Iraq fiasco.

We basically need to do what the Repubs did, in reverse. They linked every Democrat to Clinton during the "scandals". If Bush takes a significant fall in the polls, we'll need to do the same. Every Republican is a liar by association.

5. I think I would have to agree with this.
It's also a very important factor that we send more Dems to Congress with a new Dem president. We'll need a Dem Congress to start all of the investigations and prosecutions that have arisen from BushCo's rimes while in office. A Repug congress will try to prevent this. We must have justice, and the only way we're going to get it, is to have a Dem Congress, so if choosing Clark can allow that to happen, then I'm all for it.

7. Damn Good Point
I don't want to underestimate Bush, especially with $200 MM, but Clark will have a better chance of beating him than anyone, and also has a decent chance of coattails, especially in the South.

10. Bu*h can only beat Clark by stealing enough votes.
Since SCOTUS probably won't intervene again (after all, O'Connor seems a little worried about her tainted legacy), the theft will need to be truly massive. Hello Diebold.

16. Yeah, the WH called me and said I should connect Bin Ladin and 9-11.
Oh did I say WH? I meant some think tank guy in Canada.

I am for the war. No I am against the war. No, I am for the war. No, I've always been against the war.

Dean is consistent. Weezly Clark flip-flops to copy Dean's positions.

13. Beyond The Coat Tails
I honestly think that Clark could woe moderate Republicans away from the party line divides we see these days as the norm.

Clark has one trait I have seen that doesn't get much mention but its one I very much like and one that I think will serve him well in the future. You may have noticed that he does not attack fellow Democrats. He sticks to point, and the point is the dismal state of the nation and his desire to replace the man who is responsible for it and bring responsible governance back to the people. In doing so he does not make enemys of those who's help he is going to need down the road. I expect his dealings with the Congress will be much the same, to the point and not towards partisan politics and certainly not towards personal attack. In short to bring some integrity back to the top of Government.
