Clinton got to go on national TV after the super bowl because of that. That's when people started thinking, hmm, this guy is kind of interesting.

The implication is that he tied his property up in a sale that fell through so to get 100K from a guy whose profession he didn't discover until after the sale started. The house probably lost more than 100K in value during that time, so Edwards probably lost money in the long run. Apparently, he's entitled to the 100K because the sale fell through and Edwards had to accept a lower sale price from a different buyer.

He can't control the circumstances under which people give him money (the allegation was that secretaries at a law firm were paid to donate money). As soon as he found out, he gave the money back (as he has when he's received PAC and lobbyist money). There were no allegations that he solicited the firm to do this, so there's no investigation.

A sex scandal might be the best. But I don't think that's going to happen.

Maybe a Grisham-like allegation, in which he's ultimately cleared.
