OMG. From the Dean Blog -- What is the DNC doing?
Edited on Wed Nov-19-03 08:52 PM by Eloriel
I'm wondering if Dems in other states are getting emails from the DNC about why we should vote against Howard Dean in the primaries?

In this one they quote from "Who can win Ohio" by meyersonh@washpost.com and "explain" why Clark or Gephardt are preferable.

There is no way the DNC (or even a state party) should be doing this. They are supposed to remain neutral until a nominee is chosen.

Is anyone else getting such email? (I wouldn't know since I cancelled my email subscription to the DNC shit a loonnnnnng time ago.)

1. They better watch out or they are going to
go under. The dnc is playing with fire and they are too dense to notice they could get burned badly.

2. I Get Email From DNC, but None That Endorses or Disses Any Particular
candidate. However, if they are saying to vote against Dean, it's probably just to f*ck with Rove's head. Fatboy Rove pretends that he wants Dean to win, but we know he's scared sh*tless.

:)

Edited on Wed Nov-19-03 08:59 PM by onebigbadwulf
all cronyism ends everywhere across the board.

both the GOP and DNC are deep in bed with corporations, and they will be forced to do anything they can to prevent that from happening.

33. IBM was welcomed by Vermonters
We wanted them here. They provided good high paying jobs that we needed. Vermont wanted Howard Dean to work with IBM to get and keep them here. Just because a few radicals in my state who screech loudly didn't like IBM doesn't mean they are in the majority. They aren't. Those who screech usually are wealthy Massachussetts liberals who move to my state and try to take over and tell the rest of us what is best for us. It was Dean's job to represent the best interests of the majority of Vermonters...and having a good relationship with IBM was a perfect example of that.

5. This doesn't surprise me in the least
The statist assholes in the DNC hate Dean little less than they do George Bush. They are beneath nothing to sabotage Dean's campaign. I suggest that if they try to pull anything, we do a little Chicago '68 Democratic Convention trip on them and see if they have the sand to hold their ground.

The sooner this rancid establishment bites the astrodust, the better for the Democrats.

proof that Clinton and the Establishment is trying to crush Dean.

Clinton wants to be the King of the Party, and he knows with Dean, his reign is almost over.

Keep it up, Establishment folk, you guys are gonna get war!

Harold Meyerson is a liberal, is he not? Have not received any email from the DNC regarding this either, but thanks for pointing it out as I somehow missed it.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A59640-2003Nov18.html

You might also find this article that Harold Meyerson wrote about Terry McAuliffe in the American Prospect, a progressive magazine, called "Judging Terry". McAuliffe evidently has been working very hard to get the party ready for 2004.

30. what has the DNC to do with anything?
I thought the DLC was the devil? Im fairly sure they all would be delighted with the Dr's ascension, IF he could do it. In fact, I think they would be just as happy to see Bush retain power. But maybe that's just me, being a cynic...

31. Dean is a viable candidate on his own merits
his campaign is doing very well, so his supporters can drop the persecution complex and Dean will still have a very good shot at the nomination.

36. oh good grief, were dean supporters active in the party beforehand?
yeah, i think it is untrue that dean is not capable of winning in 2004. but the gripes here are focusing on how the big bad folks that run the democratic party are attacking dean.

as natural as water flowing downhill, and not really actions on their part which are to be cast as the moral equivalent of murdering and devouring infants, like the various knee-jerk responses here have bleated.

the folks aiming at dean are not outsiders and actually are the folks who run the democratic party at the state and national levels. these folks have a position in the power structure of the party and are defending the structure that yields them power.

they are doing this because they can, and they can because when the democratic party needs them, they show up.

this is why they run the party and its agenda.

they show up.

if someone, anyone, even many someones in unison demands control of the party and its agenda without doing first the necessary duties required by active members of the political party, year in, and year out, they will be rejected by those who SHOW UP ALL THE TIME.

bitching about how those damned party regulars are undermining dean would resonate more if those bitching had been more active in democratic politics.

party regulars look at the quad-annual sun-shine activists with incredulous dispair. they see people who get active once every 4 years and who expect that their voices will account for more weight in democratic politics than those who man the party apparatus each day.

there is a word for that behavior. it is called being ignorant.

moral of the story, get active (all the time), get heard.

THOSE WHO SHOW UP DECIDE.

BTW: GO DOCTOR DEAN!!
