CBS News Shows Statue Toppling - Bad Image for Bushie

The toppling of the statue in Trafalgar played on the CBS Evening News, and I think the image was a very bad one for Bush, and a very successful piece of street theater by the protesters.

It wasn't so much the toppling of the statue, as it was the huge STOP BUSH signs, the large crowd, the countdown, followed by the deafening cheer and - the coup de grace - those dressed like inspectors stomping on the fallen statue.

I think it will be shock for many Americans that Bush inspires that kind of disgust in even Great Britain.

This news show is also pretty worried about the Istanbul attacks.

They showed protest footage at the top of the program and then gave a more detailed report about 10 minutes in. Also, they showed a Brittish reporter asking Bush why he thinks so many "free people" hate him. Bush gave a predictably ignorant reply.
