Sara DANIEL wrote a sensitive paper in "Le Nouvel Observateur" in which she reports the daily life of these young guys.

Boredom, fear, funerary ceremonies, questions about the war and a lonesome idea : When do we come back home ?

Sergent Krammer summarizes their feeling : "We are sacrificing ourselves for a mission which we don't understand. Our only hope, it's to believe that our leaders, them, know what they are doing"

1. Yup, stuck between and flummoxed.
I have to bet many of the troops actually voted for Bush and now wish they could change that.

The perception of bush as a winner is becoming tarnished. The PR/Photo Ops will be his own undoing. It has a smell of Phoniness,
of rottening fish, dead meat/

2. Wow, surprising.
I thought this thread would link directly to an obituary. I'm glad that the soldiers aren't as fascistically freeperish as some other Americans.
