1. Define "fall"
I assume it includes a change in party by regularly scheduled election?

6. Since Blair isn't up until 06....
I'd say America... although I have no idea how Australian politics operate.

7. Blair is always "up"
It's a parliamentary system - as soon as Blair gets a vote of no-confidence, there's an election. He could be out within a few months if the tide turns...

12. It would be unprecedented....
For a sitting Prime Minister to get a no-confidence vote. Barring another MASSIVE scandal, larger than anything before, Blair is NOT getting a no-confidence vote. Ever.

16. huh?!
This is how Callahan was taken down in 79 (Thatcher's accession) and there are others.

More importantly, the LABOUR PARTY can ditch Blair any time, no need of a confidence vote or election.

9. Australia will have an election second half of 2004...
but the causes of Howard's downfall (if they lose) will be more varied than just Iraq. Health and education will have more effect than foreign policy.

8. Why not Turkey or Pakistan?
Or Egypt or Jordan? Iraq was touted as necessary to "stabilize" the region but it seems to have done the opposite.

13. I misunderstood, I guess.
Aren't these "coalition" countries?

I thought you meant which one would fall out of the coalition. D'oh!

I thought the Japanese would have very little tolerance for it. They're working hard to develop fuel cell technology to lessen oil dependency, so might give up sooner.
