To all our supporters who do post on Democratic Underground or on any other forums, thanks for spreading the word. I am never sure how many minds that have settled on a candidate are changed, but there are always people who are making up their minds and you all are our best ambassadors.

2. Thank You Mrs. Edwards!
This makes two known candidate family members who either post here or blog about DU (Chris Heinz being the other one).

I fully support Edwards as VP with Dean and think the Dean/Edwards ticket is magic.

Then Edwards can be Prez in 2012 if he wants it.

4. I know you arent a big fan of Kerry but Chris actually emailed me a few
weeks back. I must say, I had no idea I was so good but I lose it like all of you. I too like Edwards and his wife had kind words for my own candiate. Kucinich/Edwards or vice versa would be nice.

7. Kucinich needs to worry about winning reelection to the house
he's running against a pro-union republican who is a special ops Afganistan veteran.

Not a dig at you or him. Just thought his supporters should be aware that there is a possiblity of him losing

5. that's a ludicrous ticket
Edited on Mon Dec-01-03 12:25 AM by Bombtrack
Even if the sufficient(huge) shift in national public opinion occured that would allow Dean to be competative against Bush, it would not be in any of the swing and red states Edwards would be strongest in. And Dean's number one need would be foriegn policy and military credibility, meaning Clark would be pretty much a necessity.

Edwards wouldn't be asked, and if he was, he'd probably refuse.

Of the candidates who have a chance at the nomination, the only one who makes sense to have Edwards as his veep is Clark.

8. I agree Seventhson
I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Edwards. I think he's overall a good man, with good policies. I don't think he's strong enough right now, though, to get the nomination, and I loathe his war vote. With that said though, I think a Dean/Edwards ticket would be a strong one as well.

Though I'm still a little peeved at him for trashing Dean on CNN's Rock The Vote special where he said "The last thing we need in the South is someone like YOU telling us what we need." That really pissed me off that Edwards was using the opportunity solely for political gain. And to tell you the truth, when I heard it, I said to myself "well there goes a Dean/Edwards ticket out the door."

But who knows, anything is possible. But in all honesty, I don't think Dean can/will choose someone who voted for the illegal war. That's one of his strongest messages, and choosing someone as a running mate with a complete polar view on it makes no sense.

9. Dean stereotyped Edwards and his family with his confederate flag flop
he had every right to critisize him and he applauded Dean for his apology. The only other time Edwards really criticized Dean, for his false statement about being the only candidate to talk about race to white audiences, Dean never admitted to being wrong much less apoligizing.

15. Elizabeth Edwards sounds so normal
I'd never visited the blog before. She is funny. Here is her post that started that thread:

Today a photographer (who shall for his own sake remain unnamed) came to photograph Cate, Emma Claire and Jack for a publication (which shall also remain unnamed). Seemed like a simple enough assignment -- only he hadn't photographed children except for his own sixteen-month old son. To help we had spokemodel Jen and her sister Lisa (who teaches three-year olds), the photographer, his assistant, Marc from campaign advance (remember my excursion up a mountain when the fundraiser I was attending was at the bottom of the mountain? That was Marc), and me. We cajoled, promised, begged, ordered, danced (that would Marc), and otherwise laid ourselves at the mercy of a three-year-old and five-year-old. Would Emma Claire please not wear purple sandals and pink socks? Would Jack take the toy microphone away from his mouth? Really, it works better if you hold down away from face, son. Nothing worked.
My favorite scene was Emma Claire and Jack holding hands running from the kitchen. The photographer, convinced there was about to be a satisfactory picture wherever they were headed, told Cate to follow them, and he followed her. And there they went: the four like a runaway train, lead by a giggling twosome, running through the family room and down the hall.
The photographer, who had thought he had only to take a simple photograph of a political family, kept running his hands through his hair. I wonder why? He was a great sport and tremendously patient, but he looked completely drained when the shoot was finally over. The children, who had had their fill of photographs, rejuvenated quickly. I am pretty sure it will take the photographer a little longer.

14. Why thank you Elizabeth
for reading DU! Please come post if you're up to it!

confession time: Over a year ago, I email Edward's office about the DU early test polling of various candidates over here. I guess somebody in Edwards' office was paying attention. ;-)
