Fox asking for feedback on Asnan
Edited on Mon Dec-01-03 04:29 AM by RandomUser
From the general discussion thread on the CCN (www.forclark.com):

by JoanM on 11/30/2003 10:48:33 PM EST

Faux news showed the David Asman/Gen. Clark video this evening in a segment called "Sunday best", which recaps the best stories of the previous week or so. At the end of the Asman/Clark clip (which at least was not edited), the woman anchor Jane Skinner posed this question "Was David Asman too hard on General Clark or did he have a valid point" and invited emails on this question to be sent to Sundaybest@foxnews.com. I suggest that we flood them with emails about how Asman did not have a valid point!

Let's show Fox what DU'ers think of Asnan!

1. 'K
Did it. I highly doubt they will give two shits, but I did it anyway.

2. I think Fox is trying to gauge and refine their methods
They obviously got a lot of attention for that interview, if only from the webhits on the media file. I doubt they care what we think, but they do care what their conservative viewers think.

Of course, there's no way they can tell whether the email is from a Dem or a conservative viewer :) The conservative viewing audience is clearly who they're trying to get feedback from.

They're trying to gauge whether that interview made Fox or Clark look worse to the coservative viewers. And if they can get away with it with Clark (remember they're looking through the lens of the conservative viewers who've been indoctrinated with Fox), then they won't think twice about doing this again to Clark or any other candidate. They'll know that their Fox indoctrination and spin can counter even a botched interview.

And if conservative viewers chime in that Asnan was right against that horrible Dem General who dared fight back, the letters will probably also indicate what the viewers thought Asnan did right. And Fox can use that to refine their anti-Clark and anti-Dem message delivery.

3. Here's my letter:
Sundaybest@foxnews.com
Subject:  "Was David Asman too hard on General Clark or did he have a valid point"*

There are two questions here:
1. Asman too hard on Clark?
This is like asking if mold is too hard on rocks. Your man desperately clung to his despicable, illogical points but was swiftly dismissed by the general and duly dispached to irrelevance

2.Did Asman have a valid point?
If I remember correctly Asman's point was that Wesley Clark, a highly decorated veteran who served his country for 35 years was unpatriotic for criticizing the war in Iraq - i.e calling it a "sideshow to the war on terror"
Let's see what "criticizing the war" actually meant
If I remember correctly, the war in Iraq was started
1.Because regime change was needed in Iraq - Saddam gassed his own people- we need to bring them democracy
2. Because Saddam tried to kill W's dad
3.Because Saddam had WMD (could nuke us in 45 minutes)
4.Because Iraq was part of Axis of Evil
So, according to the official version (text of Congress & UN resolutions) war on terror was a very tiny part of the reasons for going in Iraq - or in other words - a sideshow.

As for the chutzpa of calling a four star general unpatriotic for stating these obvious reasons, David Asman is lucky he wasn't ordered to drop and do 100 push-ups and clean the latrines with a toothbrush.
For Faux's chutzpa of trying this trick of any of the rest of us - suffice to say history will not be kind.
