Daschel to be called to testify in favor of Janklow!
On C-Span this morning, the guy from CQ was commenting on this. He is not going to be a "character" witness, apparently, but maybe testify to the fact that Janklow behaved like a person with a diabetic attack a short time before killing the person with his car.

They said this might hurt Daschel...

2. Oh?
and wad Daschle in the damn car? How the hell would he know if Janklow had a Diabetic attack at that given moment? The man is a drunk and has admitted to having a penchant for driving fast. It's all a big lie. :grr: Shame on Daschle, ONCE AGAIN, for defending that abhorrent behavior.

3. Apparently Daschle will be called to testify
about something that happened on Veteran's Day. He & Janklow were at the same event. Don't think he's going to be there to defend Janklow.

7. He got a subpoena
What the hell is Daschle suppose to do, not show up? He has no choice. I believe though that the two are longtime friends and that was why, before the accident, many thought that Janklow wouldn't run against Daschle.

Sen. Tom Daschle has been subpoenaed to testify in U.S. Rep. Bill Janklow's felony manslaughter trial, which is scheduled to begin Monday in Flandreau.

Janklow's lawyers issued the subpoena for Daschle to testify Dec. 4 in Moody County Court, an aide to the senior South Dakota senator said on Thursday.

"I can confirm that Senator Daschle has been subpoenaed for that date," Dan Pfeiffer, Daschle's press secretary, said.

Janklow, R-S.D., is accused of second-degree manslaughter and misdemeanor reckless driving, speeding and failure to stop in connection with an Aug. 16 accident that killed motorcyclist Randy Scott, 55, of Hardwick, Minn.

4. Is Daschel diabetic?
Is he a nurse or physician....NO....Then he is not credible. The prosecution will eat him alive. need an expert wittness. All Tommy can do is describe observed behavior. He can't give a diagnosis.

5. It seems to me
that Janklow is trying to claim that he had a reaction to some drugs he was taking. If this is so, then he won't have a leg to stand on, since driving while impaired is illegal. That being said, I'd be willing to bet that he'll never see the inside of a jail cell. If nothing else, the repub machine may come to his rescue so they can retain their majority.

6. Scoff. How is that any different than Daschle's usual GOP aid?
Give us some news.
