Presidential Voice Recordings (since 1889)
http://www.lib.msu.edu/vincent/presidents/

This site was brought again to my attention by RatTerrier in an earlier thread dealing with Presidential appearance. I think it's very interesting to hear what our Presidents in the last 115 years have sounded like. They're all there, from Benjamin Harrison to George W. Bush.

I'd be very interested to know what everyone thinks of these Presidents as speakers. Who's the best? Who's the worst? Who doesn't sound "right" (face doesn't match the voice)?

Cheers,
elperromagico

1. Ok I'll bite ...
Who doesn't sound "right" ?

AWOL: He sounds like an idiot, but looks more like a dork.

I didn't have to checkout the site, although I will.

Cheers
Drifter

4. Coolidge is worse than Dubya, IMO
No wonder he kept his mouth shut most of the time.

8. Harding sort of sounded like Reagan.
I didn't know what the hell Harding was talking about, though.

10. Nobody understood Harding.
His speeches make precious little sense. He was basically an amiable buffoon.
