Several Palestinians have been detained for protesting against the construction of a new Jewish settlement in al-Quds (Jerusalem).

The building, which began on Sunday after being quietly approved by local authorities in recent months, coincided with the arrival of US envoy William Burns, who is in the region trying to revive the so-called "road map" for peace.

1. I honestly think the principle of it is good
I don't think any country should have to do something just because "we" tell them to.. be it Israel or Palestine..

Ofcourse I'd also like us to totally stop supporting regimes all over the world.

2. When they get as much aid from us as Israel does, they owe us!
And our support of Israel is costing us much more than the foreign aid we give them...it's costing us the lives of our children.

3. It would be nice to see a hostile relationship between the two countries
Let Israel stew among its neighbors who love it so.

Let it bluster and bully its way around without U.S. "big brother" at its beck and call.

Maybe it would get rid of the likkudnicks and start acting like a country that is not obsessed with itself and its "divine" right to be.

4. Israel gets away with murder. Literally.
And this nation enables their military sprees against an indigenous people they wish would evaporate.

6. It's a murderous region from all sides
I wonder how many people there just want to live in peace? Why do the murderers get to rule the agenda?
