why hasn't Clark released ALL of his military records?
why did he only release the parts where he received glowing reviews?

these questions are addressed to the Clarkies who are carrying Rove's water by demanding that Dean unseal all his records as governor, even though he's not required to.

Because Clark's "hidden" military records
...should they exist, won't be a campaign weapon for use against the Good General. Merely bringing them up highlights Bush's inadequacy.

Dean's, however, while almost certainly benign in their contents, will be used to hammer the Good Doctor endlessly.

It's not a matter of Dean being unfit to lead because of the hidden papers. It's a worry that the Right's tactical arsenal against Dean will be yet that much larger than it would be against Clark.

43. What a ridiculous thread....
Clarks "records" are those of a 4 star general. They will contain a wealth of information that the Army does not want public. There is no 'Monica' in Clarks records just historical information that can be used to analyze US Military policy and strategy.

Records concerning his behavior, commendations and performance are now public. Records concerning his participation in operations of a covert nature will never be publicly released. Never. The GOP will probably not make to much of an issue of this as it begs the same of Bush. Bush has some serious shit to hide.

This cannot be hard to understand.

Unlike X-Ray Dean and ChickenHawk Bush, Clark as asked that his records be released. Dean has made an unnecessary and foolish remark about his and Bush has just lied and lied. We will not see Dean’s as Dean does not want us to. We will not see Bush as his string masters do not want us to. You will see whatever the Army wants you to of Clark’s and that is all there is to it.

Invalid analogy
Dean's hidden records are a political liability. I suspect they are a minor liability, but they are set another quiver in the Right's arsenal.

Clark's hidden records--are they hidden? I hadn't heard about this--would be of little use to the right for two reasons: the public records are loaded with fulsome praise; and merely bringing the records' up highlights the phoniness of Bush's martial aura.

It's not a matter of the records giving us--voters, the "employers"--a better window into their fitness for governance. It's a matter of denying weapons to the Right in the general election.

Other than the performance reviews he has released, is Clark able to access these records? I would imagine the Pentagon has rules and regs regarding the release of military records that may contain nat'l security info.

he would not have been promoted to a FOUR STAR GENERAL. I spent 24 years in the Navy. One negative in a performance review offsets one hundred positives. Yes, I believe all his reviews were positive.

53. You're a troll, and Shelton's a Sore Loser
whose own integrity is about zip, otherwise he'd have it out with Clark once & for all, in public, instead of slinging mud and then refusing to back up his charges with specifics.

At the Clark Meetup tonight in Albuquerque I met a classmate of the General's from West Point. He was a very polite, very patrician man very much like Clark himself, but he did a slow burn at the very mention of Shelton's name. Said Clark's colleagues were all writing letters in support of the General.

Clark released all the records he had, If there are any others the army has them and were never his to release, According to army policy, after 2 stars, records aren't required to be kept by Generals in the same manner so whatever records there were after his second star were records the army kept and never in Clarks posession, or his to release, I suggest you contact the army and ask for any additional info you require.

You will never get anywhere trying to make an issue out of Clark's military record. He is the WH's worst nightmare if they are going to run a campaign on national security and foreign policy. Hat's off to the General and ALL the candidates for putting themselves out there for BS like this let alone by the Dems, even if he doesn't get the nomination this country needs more leaders in or out of the military like Clark.

40. I found some additional Clark Records...
General Wesley Clark was the most decorated soldier since Eisenhower.

Wesley Clark was Knighted by Great Britain for his work with NATO and the Balkans, one of only 11 foreign nationals so recognized.

Wesley Clark was Knighted by the Netherlands.

Wesley Clark received the French "Legion d'Honneur for his service.

Wesley Clark received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Clinton after Kosovo (this is the United States' highest civilian honor).

So, any comments?

What he did is pretty well known as he was so high up. Like Bush it is really more important what his big deal father did or made people do for him than what Bush himself did. They were the ones pulling the deal and that is why we do not get the truth. Bush the father got to someone that record will be trashed if it gets out what he did.Or that is how I think it goes.

46. Here's more on the "records"
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=Clark%27s+campaign+release+military+career

WASHINGTON, Oct. 15 — The campaign of Gen. Wesley K. Clark, who has based his Democratic presidential bid on his career in the United States Army, this week released 200 pages of internal military evaluations from his commanding officers, who repeatedly used only superlatives to describe his skills, energy and leadership abilities.
----------
The documents, given by the campaign to The New York Times, are performance evaluations that begin with General Clark's admission to West Point in 1962 and cover more than 30 years of his military career, in which he earned such decorations as a Silver Star, a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
----------------
One recurring trait that appears in the evaluations is that General Clark always spoke his mind. The evaluations are replete with mentions that he "was not a yes-man," and "says what he thinks."
