I just unloaded on the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee
The woman who called asked for money to help elect more Democratic Senators so we can prevent fiascos like the recent Medicare Bill defeat. I asked why do we need more? I told her what we need is more backbone in the ones we already have. I said until I see more discipline among the curent Democratic Senators I will only give money directly to those who demonstrate the desire to speak out against this Administration. She said that wasn't fair because the Republicans have shut the Democrats out of all the deiberations and they often don't even get to see bills until the day they come up for vote. I said if that's the case then EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRATIC SENATOR should walk out of the Capital, call a press conference and tell America what is going on and they are not going to tolerate in any longer. Show anger, show indignation, show solidarity.

She sighed and said she's hearing a lot of anger like mine. (YES!)

I'm sorry I went off on her, but it doesn't take much to get me started these days. I'm so damn frustrated. The Democrats have got to realize that they are not facing principled opponents anymore. The GOP is trying to demolish every law and every program that benefits people at the expense of the wealthy and the corporations. This is not politics, this is war.

1. Well, I just renewed my membership for a 100 bucks
They've got problems but I don't think now is the time to cut them off. There's a little election next year.

2. and now is not the time
to roll over and go along on Medicare either ...

your point is well taken but so is the base poster's ... the senate campaign committee is having serious financial problems ... but the solution to it is not just canvassing the base ... they need to energize the base ...

and watching so many dems go along on issues like Medicare is not going to energize anybody ...

it's one thing to be a centrist ... it's another thing entirely to go along with extremist republican legislation ...

3. I agree with what you are saying
But I'll still give some money, just because 04 is next year. I understand the problems, and I know there needs to be changes... but we're defending SEVENTEEN seats next year.... many of those are Senators who stood against the Medicare package.
