Poll question: Where would you like to see Wesley Clark in a Democratic Administration?
Clark seems to have indicated that he wouldn't want to be a Vice-President. If he isn't on the ticket and another Democrat wins the presidency, I'd hope that he would consider a cabinet position if he were asked. I think he would make an excellent Secretary of Defense, and is probably better suited for that role over VP.

4. Commander-in-chief
Wes Clark is uniquely qualified to be the next commander-in-chief of the United States. Dean's medical deferment, along with the mogul skiing story, will keep him from having support among anyone other than the far left. When the country is at war, a draft dodger can't and won't be elected in the general election. Supporting Dean, is in effect, supporting Bush. Sorry, but it's the truth.

11. If he fails to win the nomination to whomever...
...then I think he would make an awesome Sec of State, don't you?

Actually, come to think of it, what would be an appropriate office for each candidate if they were to be unable to secure the nomination?

Dean: HHS
Kerry: Defense
Gephardt: Labor
Kucinich: Interior
Mosley-Braun: Chief of Staff
Leiberman: WH Chief Usher

Can you only say positive things about Clark? Good Lord- even in response to a little good will in a thread you must go on the attack? Geez.

And btw, alg, you forgot Sharpton. He'd make a fabulous press sec!

I agree, he'd make an excellent PS, but the briefing room would need extra urinals - he'd have the press corps peeing their pants (from laughing).

39. What about Edwards for Attorney General?
Edited on Tue Dec-02-03 09:52 PM by elperromagico
He might be out of a job come 3 January.

I say we need Kerry in the Senate more than in the White House IF HE DOESN'T WIN THE NOMINATION (and a Republican governor would appoint his replacement, IIRC). Same goes for Lieberman, I believe.

I favor CMB for Secretary of State. She's got the gravitas. ;)

Edit: Added the words "IF HE DOESN'T WIN THE NOMINATION" in order to avoid attacks from Kerry supporters and in order to clarify my stance.

14. THOSE DAMN CLARKIES
have been signaling to one another to flood DU and sabotage the polls again!

First they did it by posting notices on the Clark site, but lately they have grown more clever and taken advantage of their Military/Industrial Complex connections by transmitting messages to one another via the receptors in their subcutaneous microchips!

DAMN THOSE CLARKIES!!!!!

It's the microchips. Really. Mine left a little scar on my forehead but if I comb my hair forward a bit it covers it up.

There is one bad side effect to that chip. I seem to pick up signals from Cheney's bunker. Particularly when he and Lynne get greased up with Astro Glide. Really gives me a headache.

As a nice parting gift. He needs a position that will have little or no effect on US policies, as I still am not convinced that he is completely on our side.

28. Clark Will Make An Excellent VP
To Dean's Pres.

In 2012, Clark will make an excellent Pres himself.

As for Dean being a draft dodger?

I'm surprised to hear Democrats talking that kind of re-puke.

The man is no dodger, and saying so only make the Republicans smirk.

I hate Right-Wing smirkers.

Let's get together, somehow, ok? We can't win this with ANY candidate if we divide ourselves up.

30. I don't care
About the draft-dodger thing. But Clark and Dean together on either ticket makes no sense. Either one of them would need a congressional insider just in practical terms.

40. Right.
An outsider-outsider ticket isn't typical among the major parties. It's usually either outsider-insider or insider-insider.

Still, it's an interesting idea.
