Removing Bush is important!
Throwing the Republicans Out of Congress Is Survival.

It is important that Bush and his administration be removed in 2004. It is equally as important that the Democrats regain control of the House and Senate. Congress controlled by the Republicans is just as much a danger to this country as is a Republican president.

Is there anyone out there who lives in a Republican District or State that thinks there is a chance to replace a Republican congressman or senator with a Democrat?

1. Illinois had Republic governors for a quarter of a century
and mostly a Republican-dominated legislature throughout that time. After last year's elections, that situation has reversed dramatically. There is only one high-level Republican in the state government (state treasurer, also party chairman) and it is said that the GOP is virtually dead in the water in this state.

All of Illinois is not as liberal as Chicago -- even much of suburban Chicago is heavily Republican.

2. Conservatives or Real Republicans,
Reasonable People, or whatever you want to call them, need to recapture the Republican party from buffoons like Bush, nazi's like DeLay and the collection of various idiots from the neo-cons or religious right that are running this country into the ground.

For them the first and perhaps painful step is to vote Democratic Party candidates into office. They need not worry about this. There are plenty of conservatives on the Democratic ticket to chose from.

Hopefully this era will fade into history as an aberration.

One of my friends (and fellow DU'er) says that Clinton was more conservative than Nixon. In a way, I have to agree.

In 5 years or so, a New Republican party can start to emerge. It would be nice to see a party with the traditional strengths, instead of ignorance and weakness spun as virtue.

America is a great country, how did these clowns get in charge?
