Over the last couple of days there has been a lot of talk about Colorado Politics. Some was about the redistricting. Thank God for the ruling, we don't need Tom DeLay messing with our state. Others were about Governer B.O. In 1998 he bearly won the race and his big novel idea was widen I-25. He unfortunately won by a landslide in 2002. Do you think that he will win 2006 at this rate, or is he going down.


Also, there were talks about congressional elections next year. Everybody is saying that Bob Beauprez is in for a shitstorm in 2004. Are there any other neocon congress people that we have a chance at ousting? McInnis? Tancredo?

Also McInnis is leaving the third, which is CO's most competetive seat. The 7th is also competetive.

I think Udall will have a tough time against Campbell, myself. He'll get smeared as a "Boulder liberal", and that will help the repubs. get their vote out. I was really hoping K. Salazar would run for the Senate - he would get out the minority vote in a Presidential year - putting CO. in play.

I've got some juicy info on B.O., but I was asked not to discuss this in open forum until we gather more information.

Salazar will use it to his great advantage when the time is right.

His brother, John Salazar is running for McInnis' former seat. He should win this one with no problems.

What I want to see is Hefley and Bitch from Ft. Morgan go down like a cheap whore that they are, but they in heavily Republican areas.

Campbell will not be able to win next year if Udall decides to run against him, and I hope he will. His seat is safe, and could find a very good successor in Boulder area.

might be running for president in '08, so I'm not sure he'll run for reelection in '06. Look at Dean's success after he retired as governor two years before the '04 election.

I also don't think Tancredo will run again in '04. Didn't he promise to run only three terms? I think he might be planning a senate primary run against Campbell (not like he'd stand a chance).

As for the republicans that may run for President in 2008 according to rumor. Jeb Bush, Condelezza Rice, Bill Owens!!!! God does their playing field suck.

If Dean or another Dem wins in '04, especially if we start bouncing back after the end of Bush's reign, I would not expect any of them to win. Especially the first two being so connected to Bush.

8. Owens Can't Run Again

The Republicans got tired of Democrats getting elected over and over again, so they got term limits enacted. Thankfully, Owens can't run again.

Scott McPinhead has already announced that he isn't running for reelection in the 3rd District. Speculation is he's gonna run for Governor. I'd rather see him locked up at the SuperMax in Florence.

The fastest growing parts of the state have been in the El Paso/Douglas/Fremont/Park/Elbert County area. And they are all really Republican. In the early 1990s, when the aerospace industry collapsed and immigrant levels rose, many "white flight" votes from places in Southern California like Orange and San Diego counties fled to the Rockies, especially to Colorado.

11. Owens in trouble

I had posted this over the weekend on another forum.
Bill Owens and his wife are currently separated with divorce procedings imminent.
A rumor I heard over thanksgiving from friends in Denver is that there may be a pregnant nanny. Other people have heard the same and that Denver journalists are sitting on any information.
It should be not a surprise that another self righteous hypocrite is possibly headed for a fall. The disgusting thing is that the Denver press includes some who profess to be independent and there is no coverage of this issue, be it true or not.

his extremism has even alienated the Repug party, so he is likely to be in trouble.

Beauprez could be in deep shit. He has been a wasted spot and has not represented his district well at all.

It's hard to imagine the xtian reactionaries in the Denver suburbs and the rural parts of the state making big changes in the party representation from Colorado though.
