Interviewer: In general, what do you think about the
indocumented workers.

Clark: I want to believe in a system for the undocumented workers.

Interviewer: Will this system include Amnesty for the undocumented workers?

Clark: Yes, Amnesty.

His Amnesty Plan is:

-It will Take 5 years if you pay taxes, work, and have no crimes.
-Cut the waiting time from 5 years to 2 years in order to be a citizen.

Interviewer: How are you going to work with the Congress to implement a plan like this?

Clark: It is necessary to work with the Congress. This election will make a new Congress.

Interviewer: How are you going to work with the other Latin American countries?

Clark: It is necessary to respect those populations. Each country in Latin America is different.

Interviewer: You have called the war in Iraq an "Irresponsible War". Why?

Clark: Because it was a war that was not necessary to be fought.

End.

7. I'm surprised General Clark's camp isn't underscoring his language skills
I consider that a big deal if he can speak multiple languages.
It'd be a big deal as president, likely demonstrating respect
of other nations and cultures. And he's stated that he
likes to learn other languages to better understand who he's
dealing with. That's pretty kewl. But his language skills
are barely a footnote, even on his official site.

10. ROFL
His Spanish is rusty as hell, and he has a bigger gringo accent than I do, which is saying something. But it's nice to see him making the effort.

Anyone besides me ever notice what an awesome job the Spanish-language stations do with graphics?

13. He tried to learn Spanish for an assignment in Latin America
I don't think he ever claimed to be fluent in Spanish. I think he's fluent in French and Russian. I don't know which other languages.

15. He did OK.
He seems to understand the grammar and so on; the rest is a function of practice, which he doesn't get any of, obviously. My own Spanish is pretty bad, but I've had Hispanic friends and picked a lot up from being around them; I doubt it's an opportunity he'd have in Arkansas and so on.

17. Just had to point out
that Spanish-speaking peoples are a fast-growing segment of the population of Arkansas. That being said, General Clark spent very little of the past 37 years actually IN Arkansas.
