3. I sent LTTEs out
to 10 different local papers... EVERYONE use congress.org and send to your local papers. You can send to 5 at a time and only have to write the one letter and C&P, it's a completely invaluable tool. :)

5. Kerry's speech today calls Bush foriegn policy "arrogant, inept ,reckless"
Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 02:49 PM by oasis
That gets spun by Fox as Kerry's effort to sound more like Dean.

He'll be interviewed by Fox shortly, approx. 3 p.m. est.. Let's see if they mention Patriot Act.

8. EVERYTHING in this campaign get's turned into something that has to
do with Dean. Just like Arnold was the lens through which teh media looked at every bit of news during the recall -- Arianna dropping out? what does Arnold think? Arnold's the only one who doesn't go to debate? What does Arnold think? Sun sets in the west? What does Arnold think? -- everything in this presidential campaign is seen through the lens of Dean.

Two other candidates should totally fabricate a vicious battel of words and wits just to see if the media would turn away from Dean for a moment. What if Gephardt and Lieberman started to pretend that they HATED each other, and all they talked about was each other, and it got really vicious. Would the media talk about it at all? Would they find a way to make it about Dean?

It seems he's got a good thing going which could get ever so big if he could just get some traction.

10. Except Kerry was saying it back in early 2002.
When damn few Democrats would back him up, including Dean when asked.

12. yes
but most of the big media ignored it. like when he went after bush for appointing kissinger to investigate 9/11 attacks, the media ignored it but attacked him for his hair cuts.

Kerry was clearly irritated by the attitude of that little twit.

18. Shep was constantly interupting JK as he attempted to answer questions.
Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 04:52 PM by oasis
That was basically it. Kerry's thoughtful explanations got torpedoed just as he was getting to the point.

As bad as Kerry needs the exposure, I don't think Fox would be a desirable venue in the future. It would be my guess that:

(1) Most Fox Viewers are Repub leaning anyway.

(2) Kerry's approach to policy and problem solving is quite complex and the Fox audience is not sophisticated enough to understand.

19. Kerry is unelectable
He's a tax and spend liberal, who's soft on defense, want's to raise taxes and is for gay marriage.

And now he want's to undermine our homeland security while we are in a war with terror.

Try and tell me that's not how Rove will spin it.

22. The liberal part is right
He'd have a tough time with his liberal positions over the years, as would any other candidate. The tax and spend is wrong. He cosponsored Gramm-Rudman-Hollings deficit reduction and has been for other tax cuts over the years. He doesn't throw out $110 billion dollar programs every time he turns around either. And he's certainly not soft on defense or undermining Homeland Security. His legislation is what is being used to cut into terrorist funding, he's had years of real experience in terrorism and homeland security. He proposed a Director of National Intelligence to coordinate national intelligence.

"We must insure that our intelligence is accurate, not manipulated; that it flows efficiently between agencies and to our allies abroad and the law enforcement community at home – because even what we do know will hurt us if it is not known in the right places. We must end the multiple watch lists and the bureaucratic rivalries that put institutional pride ahead of national safety. As President, I will address this danger immediately by asking Congress to pass legislation creating a Director of National Intelligence, with real control of all national intelligence personnel and budgets. And I will appoint a Secretary of Defense and other officials who will co-operate with this change – who will understand that their job is to protect the country, not their own fiefdoms. I will also complete a comprehensive review of the national intelligence establishment, a review which the Bush Administration commissioned in its early days but which has stalled in the face of entrenched bureaucratic interests."

I don't see how anybody who reads this with an open mind wouldn't come to the conclusion that Kerry is by far and away the best on foreign policy, possibly in the country.

There is no perfect candidate, but when you weigh them out and measure them against Bush, Kerry comes up on top in every single issue.

24. Dean, Dean, Dean, Dean....
It's true....I think the media has pissed upon Kerry from
the beginning. In some ways, this pissing paved way for
Clark and now they've pissed on him too.

Somewhere, someone really wants Dean to face Bush....

I know some Dems who do, but I am not exactly sure why
the media does. I think it's a plot by elements of both
the Right and the Left.

Dean's nomination may be the result of a "Perfect Storm"
of sorts...

Perhaps Kerry and Clark's Military Cred is just too intimidating
for both Dems and Repubs, but for different reasons....

Dean, Dean, Dean, Dean....
