An Apology to the World
If I were running for president, I'd vow to make a formal apology to the world on behalf of the United States for the despicable foreign policies of the Bush administration (damage to international relations, pre-emptive war, pulling out of Kyoto, etc.).

I make this apology at the United Nations within the first days of my presidency and would then outline my program for mending damaged relationships with our allies, enacting sweeping environmental reforms, fully addressing the AIDS pandemic, attacking world hunger and poverty, eliminating nuclear weapons, assisting developing nations, and bringing peace to the Middle East and all other places of violence and oppression. There is no reason that all of this cannot be tackled in this century. America could lead the world in this effort.

1. you should add in
something about bringing the US into the intl criminal court, and offering up Bush for extradition to stand trial.

2. In that spirit, I'd appoint Al Gore to be either Sec of State or UN Rep
and I'd have Carter and Clinton on almost non-stop missions to mend fences. What a mess for whomever takes over for this crew!

that most amercians didn't vote for Bush - you guys need an apology as much as the rest of us - apart from Afghanistan and Iraq obviously, the people most screwed by bush and his mad cohorts are Americans

9. Hummm... But
One American can't continue to use up twice more energy than an European for an equal level of life.

8. If only most Americans
would realize the enormous benefit of taking such a bold step. For the world's only superpower to show minimal signs of humility and modesty, rather than trigger-happy arrogance, would win us not only the admiration of other nations, but real friends.
