15. For the entire summer, he was waxing and waning on which party he

was from. If memory serves me correctly, after he anounced his democratic presidential candidacy he had to go back to Arkansas and register as a democrat.

He was also plugging for republicans post 9-11. He was on video at the Arkansas RNC Convention......Praising Powell, scrub and the gang.

He was deciding whether to run for President over the summer but, as most career military people do, he wouldn't reveal his party affiliation.

Also, in some states, you don't actually register a party affiliation.

As for Arkansas, he was registered as an independent because he was military - country before party.

On an NPR interview this week, he revealed he started thinking as a Democrat in '92. Voted Clinton twice, Gore once, and campaigned for a host of dems in the '02 elections.

He spoke at a republican fundraiser as a favor to someone.

Several candidates have "praised" Powell and the gang.

Running against your party's nominee is for people who are more interested in running their mouths than running a country. That doesn't strike me as Clark's style. If he's not on the ticket, I expect him to focus on national service-type initiatives, doing speaking engagement/pundit/book work.

I would want for Clark to win because of the support he is getting in the military and how much I admire this person. In the last 20 years I have not seen so much support in the Military for Democrat cand. like waht Clark is getting. Some personal are afraid of Bush and his policies but they want someone strong in Defense. In my opinon my vote is for Clark and maybe for Kerry it might change from now till November because I don't trust Bush at all. I have been asked by so many if Clark doesn't get the ticket if she run as Independent by fellow Marines and Army buddies.

Now I know from your past posts that you have been looking at the electoral maps, so have I. In order to win, we must take something that is now colored red. Personally, I think Clark has a very good chance of doing that, both in the midwest and the west. My friends from Arkansas swears that he will take that state. Good.

NC will split its votes this time. I believe that's where you are. An analysis of the vote by one of those people who sit around doing this sort of thing, said that a shift of 10% of the military vote would move 6 states from red to blue. What are Clark's chances from your perspective?

I think Clark is the one, if you do too, I suggest that it means boots on the ground...boots on the ground...boots on the ground. I'm there.

BTW, it is not just our foreign policy that will take a 180, it is also our corporate policy. Clark has said that he will send a series of bills to the congress with the purpose of closing one corporate loophole at a time. No bs, just an up or down vote. It will mean congress will be on the hotseat, it's either the people of America or some lobbyist. I love the thought of that.

The one issue that Dean must address is the one of rolling back the entire Bush TAX cut and raising taxes on the middle class. This one issue alone will propel Clark to the top of the ticket in the heartland. The is no escaping this period. So I would'nt worry about Clark not getting the nomination unless Dean switches gears on this issue and soon. Nope, I see a Clark/Dean ticket unless Dean somehow manages to piss Clark off before the primaries.
