For Kucinich supporters re: Paul Simon's endorsement of Dean
I realize that for many people who believe in Dennis Kucinich, there are a lot of reservations about Howard Dean. I am curious if any of you may give him another look after the endorsement of former Illinois senator, and liberal icon, Paul Simon?

1. Sorry, no.
I do not care who endorses him. I have made up my mind without thinking about who else endorses my candidate. Dean was my choice for a while, I have lost complete interest in him. This does not mean I do not respect what he is doing but that I do not care for his policies.

18. You must not know much about Paul Simon...
... if you think that is an accurate statement ("oh joy--another member of the rich, powerful political establishment...."
). :eyes:

2. no
I am supporting DK because I like his ideas. I don't care at all who anyone else supports and/or endorses.

3. Kucinich supporters in our area refuse to vote for other Democrats.
I know of one or two who will support others. Most of them say they will not support any other Democrat. They come to the Democratic meetings and make use of the meetings to further their support for Kucinich.

My husband almost had words with someone at a meeting. They were very dismissive of the rest of the candidates.

I hope Kucinich would not approve of that. They are in effect saying they will not vote Democratic.

7. Me too.
And so do most DK supporters I know. So far meetups have been very much about keeping it positive and not attacking other cndidates.

8. Thanks, JohnKleeb. You need to come and lecture the ones here.
Just kidding, but it is really irritating to hear it. I like Kucinich. We started really paying attention to him when he began coming out against the war last year. He and Scott Ritter had forums together.

I hope most will come around. I think any candidate's people should support others. I would have trouble with Lieberman, but the rest I would support.

:hi:

13. at our DK meetups
We sit around with voodoo dolls of Dean and sling elk poop at them. Then we burn them in effigy while cursing his grandma.

Yes, I will vote for the nominee, whomever it may be, because I do have an obsession with getting Bush out.

We may all disagree on HOW to do so, but doing so is the thing.

5. I love Paul Simon.
And I think that's great for Dean. I'm glad we have more than one good candidate.

I'm still proud to be working on the Kucinich campaign.

9. I know another group of
Kucinich supporters in the Kansas City area who say they will not vote for any other nominee. With that kind of attitude, Bush will stay in power.

12. I voted for Simon on Super Tuesday 1988
Edited on Sat Dec-06-03 12:12 AM by ZombyWoof
My first vote in a presidential primary (starting my tradition of supporting principled underdogs). I respect him tremendously, but I disagree with him, as I do with anyone who endorses Dean.

On edit: I LOVE the "Graceland" album!

I think "Rhythm of the Saints" is better. Hi ZombyWoof! I always loved both Paul Simon's as well.

16. uhm no...why would I?
Since Howard Zinn endorsed Kucinich do all the Dean supporters support Kucinich now?

Dean was my top choice when this all started. His dishonesty and "finger to the wind" campaigning completely turned me off.
