If the Democrat beats Bush in 2004, how will you feel?
Edited on Fri Dec-05-03 09:53 PM by kentuck
Will you feel like celebrating throwing out the wanna be dictator? Will there be a sense of relief that our country has been saved from this despot and his destructive policies? Or will there be a realistic calm knowing what needs to be cleaned up? Will it be an impossible job? What will you be feeling when the Democrat is sworn in on that cold but sunny day in January of 2005?

(edited spelling)

1. I would feel more anxious.

Bush would be leaving us with a lot of fuck-ups to clean up, and we would be responsible for results after four years, even with an uncooperative GOP congress. The routine (and fun!) of blaming everything that's wrong on Bush would be over for a while.

edit: On second thought, I'd be like, hell yeah!

It will be nice to wakeup to the morning paper without an insanley conservative headline indicating mounting nuclear tensions in (blank) region of the world.

3. Roll up your sleeves
The money and power freaks always leave a mess environmentally, socially, economically, whatever. We have a big job to restore faith and stability in our world.

4. How does an iraqi
Who has lost his family and loved ones to american bullets feel knowing that a corrupt democracy will now replace a corrupt autocracy.... empty.

Likely, i'll be emotionally drained and exhausted... and i will clean up my life and move on from the horror of the evil king.

Republicans do not compromise and we must be prepared for their next Richard Mellon Scaife, their next Ted Olson and their next Clinton Witch Hunt.

10. Brief respite
That's what a Democratic victory in 2004 will be at best. The fight will have only begun.

Losing in 2004 will mean it is over. I will prepare myself for the coming onslaught, and it will be brutal. Democracy will be 100% dead and a new fascist power will bring a shadow across the face of the planet.
