A higher ratio of troops are surviving with wounds that would have been fatal in earlier wars. We have better on scene first aid and quicker evacs than ever before.
(afaik)

on edit: They shouldn't have been over there in the first place like they are, imho. This war was based on lies.

ecomomic realities are that not enough gear was ordered and they take time to manufacture.

i have stopped scoffing at my nutty conspiracy-theorty friends and acquaintances when they talk about riot control and urban guerilla combat training going on at abandoned air force bases......but that;s just silly talk, right?
