Hamilton, I can somewhat understand; he was the father of the Treasury.

FDR lifted a nation's spirits during the Depression, and led us through most of WWII.

But what did Grant or Reagan do?

And, if these Republicans want Reagan on money, why not replace Grant on the $50? I'm sure they see a lot more of those than dimes!

1. But the dime stopped the assassin's bullet!
Isn't that a great reason?

3. FDR's support for the March of DIMES - get it??
trumps any rightwing nonsense about ray-gun. The irrational love for the man is essential for right wing morale because they have nothing else and their love of him is based on lies. How sad. Bring on the dime movement. If the American public knew the truth about Iran Contra, the dime movement would die and the rename the carrier movement would be on. Its really quite simple, they can't handle the truth.

6. Yeah, I get it.
I was being very sarcastic...so much so that I didn't think I even needed to indicate it.

2. The problem with Repukes is genetic, when the word Reagan is mentioned
Repuke men get hard-ons, Repuke women's nipples become hard.

Trying not to make this a sex thread, but there really is a screwy kind of worship going on that doesn't jar with reality.

5. The reason FDR is on the dimes
is because of the March of Dimes, which asked kids to donate their ten cent pieces to help eradicate polio. To take FDR off the dime is a slap in the face to all those people who worked to develop a polio vaccine, and to all those brave souls who suffered and survived that ravaging disease.

7. What did Grant do? He smashed the Southern Confederacy.
That earns him the right to have his face put on anything higher than a chamber pot or trash can, IMO. Shame on you for suggesting that he be removed in favor of Ronald Reagan.

If the Republicans want to replace someone on the money, here are some excellent choices:

$500 William McKinley
$1,000 Grover Cleveland
$100,000 Woodrow Wilson

I'd suggest they go with the 100,000 bill, as 1) I don't have a great deal of respect for Wilson, so wouldn't mind seeing him go; 2) the high dollar amount is eminently appropriate for Reagan, and 3) we of the "common folk" never get to see banknotes that big anyway.

8. Did Ray Gun die and no one told me?
Last time I heard, you had to be dead before you could have your face plastered on US money.

Unless the Republicans are telling us something: That Ronnie is a zombie and already dead.
