FLANDREAU, S.D., Dec. 5 — U.S. Rep. Bill Janklow testified in his own defense at his manslaughter trial Saturday, crying as he talked about the man who was killed in the traffic accident he is accused of causing.

:nopity:

ohhhhh and watch the GOP repugs wring their hands for the poor man...waaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

3. He doesn't remember the others, either. Small "details"...
Just like Poppy can't remember where/what he was/doing on 22 November, 1963....

12. Republicans aren't murderers.
They may be willing to mess up the country, but I know plenty of Republicans and none of them go around hitting people with their cars for the heck of it.

Honestly, I think it's a bit hypocritical to go around ragging on Janklow when we've got Gary Condit and the likes. Seriously, people - when politicians are on capitol hill, yeah, things get partisan. But if Janklow is personally irresponsible, it has little to do with his party affiliation.

8. I don't feel sorry for him..
though it may be the first time he's ever taken someone's life ACCIDENTALLY, he claims to have forgotten it already. After all, it's been at least a month - anyone could have forgotten all about killing someone a month ago, right?

11. Even if he was having a diabetic episode..
How long has he been a diabetic? Doesn't he manage his illness?

My sister is a diabetic who checks her blood regularly and is constantly aware of her glucose level. She knows when she has to eat and does so. His defense that he hadn't eaten is weak -- if he has an illness it's his responsibility to do what he needs to do, especially before driving a car. It's like driving drunk -- if this was the case, he drove the car in an impaired state which he could have avoided.

Typical repuke -- avoiding responsibility.
