I just caught it. NBC5 just reported that in tomorrow's Sun-Times Michael Sneed is going to report that former Illinois Governor George Ryan (R) will be indicted for the whole license for bribes thing.

1. I'm sorry to hear that....

NOt that he may not be corrupt and certainly not that a Repub is being taken to task, but the fact is that Ryan's stance in overturning the death penalty in IL is one of the guttsiest things I've seen a politician do. And, a repug politiican, at that....

So whatever else he may be, for that, he has my admiration.

2. Ditto, check out what Steve Earle said about George Ryan

He said that after Ryan made that decision, someone said he was just doing it to clear his conscience.

Steve's comment was that if we all checked in with our conscience before we made a decision, the world would be a whole lot better place.
