NH stations not airing Saturday Night Live because Sharpton is the host
I just tried to tune in (Vermont and NH view the same station in this area) and there was a notice scrolling across the bottom of the screen that said the two NH stations aren't airing it because Sharpton is a candidate in the NH primary. So, Sharpton won't benefit from this appearance in NH at all. They are showing an old one with Steve Martin. Just thought I should let people here know about this. It doesn't seem fair to me. They showed Dean and Kerry on Leno, so why they won't show SNL is beyond me.

1. I think you are allowed to be on
if you are being interviewed for a news segment, but I don't see how you can call letterman or leno news.

3. Letterman is more like news than say Larry King
But I'm with you on Leno.

4. It just doesn't seem right to me
And I'm not even a Sharpton supporter. I think he's funny though and would like to have seen it as I love SNL.

6. I don't have broadband yet
I just found out it's available, but haven't signed up yet. With 56K downloads and media files are painfully slow. :(

Thank you, though.

8. It's outrageous...
I'm in Calif. so I hope I can see the broadcast. I think it's just plain scandalous that they won't let Sharpton be seen everywhere. Lord knows the "Gropen furher" here in cali had his time on Leno. I've seen scores of nominees on all sorts of fun TV spots over the years. Soooooo, what's going on? I wonder if it's just because Al is "who he is". That would be unseemly.
It's only a show, for heavens sake.
I will watch just because the other stations refuse to. Idiots. Sugarbleus :grr:

7. Same in St. Louis...
This stinks! They're doing the same thing in St. Louis. If it was a neo-con candidate, they'd air it.... At least y'all got some kind of explanation. There was no notice here that I saw.

9. The reason is because equal time laws
in some states would require that the station donate time to other candidates

15. Weird, Sacramento didn't carry it
but San Francisco (well, San Jose) has it. Wonderful luddite low tech rabbit ears saved the day for this valley boy.

18. During "Weekend Update," they made fun of these cities.
Tina and Jimmy pulled out a map, and pointed to each of the cities not carrying the episode, saying "Suck it, Des Moines!" and "Kansas City? Booooring!" and "Boston? Well... you just hate black people."

It was actually very funny, and I'm glad they drew attention to it. The opening sketch involved the blackouts too.
