Does anyone else think that it will be a Dean/Clark ticket?

I have to tell you that Dean's speech today blew my socks off and put me squarely in the Dean camp. It was a speech that finally brought some vision and unity to a country starving for it. Clark has been putting out a message of hope as well, and that's why I am hoping for a Dean/Clark ticket.

I don't think that it would be a Clark/Dean ticket because Dean is the front runner by FAR. We need a doctor and a general in the White House. What do you think? Whom do you think that the good doctor will ask to be his VP?

. . . I think it would be unsuitable for Clark to indicate he would accept a VP slot with anyone. To do so would be to admit, in a way, that he might not win the nomination for president. Each has to act as though of course s/he will win.

I am of the same mind as you--I do like Clark very much and think a Dean/Clark ticket would be VERY strong.

I've noticed no egomaniacal tendencies although it requires a high level of confidence in yourself for anyone to run for POTUS.

I think they would make a good team. I'd love to see Clark debate deep throat Cheney and Dean said last January that he relished a debate with *.

If Clark is the loyal Democrat his supporters say he is, it is very likely. However, they could be wrong, and/or Dean may have other priorities.

11. For awhile, I thought it would be Dean/Clark

but after watching Dean's speech in Floriday yesterday, I think it will be Graham. That twinkle in his eye when he mentioned Graham's "future service" to his country was not an accident. Personally, I think Clark is the stronger VP candidate who very well might be able to bring a couple of Southern states to our side. Graham has been a dedicated public servant but Florida is firmly in Republican hands (the 2000 machine is bigger and better than ever) and I don't see Graham's influence expanding much outside of Florida.

. . . though Graham doesn't seem to have much going on outside of Florida AT THIS POINT, given the national recognition of a VP candidacy, I think he would be very well received by the rest of the country. His early work against 9-11 stonewalling (and wasn't he also the first to use the word "impeach" re The Chimp?) should easily resonate with Democrats. He has an excellent and highly electable record of working for progressive causes, both as a senator and as a governor (2 terms).

I think Dean would be absolutely well advised to ask Graham or Edwards to be his VP. His speech about the Southern strategy is true and good but the strategy works because it works. Nixon didn't make it up, he just used it.

A Connecticut Yankee (uh, Vermont Yankee) isn't going to find it an easy row to hoe trying to reverse all those years of GOP racism.

This time, while acknowledging this is only my opinion, I also hope that events prove me wrong.

The first time I met Dean back in May, when he was asked which of the other candidates he liked, he spoke glowingly of Graham. Based solely on that I'd expect a Dean/Graham ticket.

If Clark were to win the nomination, it's extremely difficult to imagine him offering the VP spot to Dean, although I don't pretend to know who he'd want for the number 2 position.
