How will we explain the killing of 9 Afghan children to American children?
http://www.nytimes.com/2003/12/08/international/asia/08AFGH.html

Clothing and shoes belonging to the Afghan children killed on Saturday in an American airstrike in Ghazni Province were placed on their graves.

1. I know how I will explain it to my grandchildren: we have an illegitimate
pResident who has his head up his ass, and he really doesn't care if innocent little kids get killed.

2. But, But, Kerry said the F word and Clinton got a blow job.
Those apparently seem to be much harder to explain to kids than the wreckless death of innocent children. They were colatteral damge in the war on terrorism. I feel sick.

4. Exactly.
We won't explain this to the children because it's going to disappear as a story tomorrow. Whereas we'll have John Kerry's language to kick around to the end of this week, probably. At least.

6. Well, that one act probably created 1,000 more terrorists.
That is why war will not put an end to terrorism. It only creates more terrorists every time we kill a civilian and especially an innocent child.

3. Explain?
What's to explain? It's so much better to just pretend it never happened, as is always the case with bushco.:grr:

From the article:

The investigation team arrived Sunday and had left by midafternoon, he said.<snip>

]But he said that the soldiers had not talked to villagers or identified the dead man.

Some investigation, not even bothering to talk to the villagers.:eyes:Par for the course with US "investigations" of its own murdering of civilians.

5. Not "how will we explain", but how will
bush explain and he must be the one who stands up and takes responsibility for this - AND NOW

7. Dream on
Let's think for a minute about all of things Bush hasn't taken responsibility for. What makes you think he's going to do that for nine dead kids who didn't even have the good sense to be American?

8. Simple....
they were Muslim, therefore must be terrorists. You know those (fill in the foreign nationality here) don't value human life like we do. They had their children carrying bombs to blow up our Christian soliders. It's sad (collateral damage, etc.), BUT our resolve to rid the world of terrorists remains strong.

9. We won't
By the time this thread sinks into obscurity so will the memory that nine children were killed by american military might. See that's what you can do when you're the bully.

12. "Mistakes Were Made"
That seemed to be the general GOP passive-voice excuse for things like Iran-Contra, so why not dust off this perfectly useable cliche this time around.

Sad and pissed-off this morning.

13. "see they have dark skin and live in a underdeveloped country....
so it is ok to blow them to smithereens."

or "they aren't 'mericans...."

or "they believe different things than we do..."

14. "We regret the unfortunate deaths of..."
That seems to be the popular line for the murderers. This will be followed by "We regret the unfortunate deaths of.." even more civilians. As if it all happened by chance. An unlucky event. An act of God.

Besides they were merely some Afghan kids. Not as if they were American kids. Can you imagine the reaction if "terrorists" had blown up 9 American kids while trying to knock off some American official? And, following it with a statement of "We regret the unfortunate deaths of.."

I'm not a little surprised that CNN was able to wedge in 20 seconds about it between the usual tripe about the inconvenience caused by the weather and celebrity sex antics.

15. No, no no guys, you got it all wrong-
It goes like this

"Well see it's very sad that those children's parents kept them in a war zone, but it's better that we fight terrorists in their country than in ours!"

Yah, it's ok to "bomb some brown people" (as George Carlin puts it) as long as they aren't AMERICAN brown people.:puke: :eyes: :grr:
