"Also, retired Army Gen. Wesley Clark appears on track to raise at least $12 million during the current three-month quarter, giving his campaign momentum to remain in contention"

1. oops, this one too

The Southern Moderates are retired General Wesley Clark from Arkansas and Senator John Edwards from North Carolina. Of all the Democrat candidates, I think these guys have the best chance at appealing to moderates and winning the Democratic nomination. Edwards is a bona-fide public servant, and Clark easily fits the image of a true patriot.

2. If Florida is Key to Democrats, We Have Already Lost the Election
We MUST have a strategy to win without Florida.

3. Even if winning it isn't required, being competative there is
as well as in, to a lesser degree, the about half of southern states that aren't solidly safe for Bush.

Gore may not have won TN, AR, LA, NC, or officially FL, but he did make Bush atleast work and spend like crazy in those places, which with another nominee, say, one from a liberal new england state, he wouldn't have had to.

This allowed Gore to win the upper midwest much easier.

The best ticket for us to win is Clark-Graham, by a wide wide margin

All the candidates can be involved as well. Dean can organize his die-hards in NH and IO. Gephardt and Kucinich can help in Midwestern metros to varryingly liberal and moderate audiences. Kerry and his wife can help out in NH, AZ, and PA, particularly with vets. Edwards can help organize trial lawyers, as well as campaign for Clark in NC, VA, WV, TN, and elsewhere. Braun in Chicago, Lieberman in south Florida.
