Gephardt the most negative candidate?
Has anyone here noticed that he seems to be doing the MOST mudslinging of all the top candidates? Everyone has been negative, but it seems that that is the only thing Gephardt does.

Take this Regarding Gore's decision as the latest evidence:

Dick Gephardt fought side-by-side with Al Gore to pass the Clinton economic plan, pass the assault weapons ban and defend against Republican attacks on Medicare and affirmative action. On each of these issues, Howard Dean was on the wrong side," said Erik Smith, Gephardt's campaign spokesman.

That comment seems a little self centered to me, the only guy who should feel pissed about Gores decision is Lieberman-no comment as of yet.

I used to like Gep, but now I think he is doing nothing to help our party.

If this is how Gep runs his pres campaign, we are royally screwed.
Anyone else feel this?

1. Lieberman is worse, Gep only started after he'd been attacked
Lieberman has consistently attacked other Democrats, for their Democratic ideals. Gephardt attacked Dean when Dean became the frontrunner, after putting up with Dean's distortion of the other candidate's record for a long time, and Dean running 180 degrees from his own record.

But, Gephardt is sure as hell running negative now, and it's not doing him any good. He should stop it.

2. Gephardt looks for the softer, easier way.....
to get what he wants. He is only a half-full drink of water.....

He is a half-measure of a democratic candidate as he does not give his heart and sole to issues, but looks for what his position will do for him and how it place him in the polls.

Thats how I see the man.

4. amazing how little you seem to know about Gephardt
"he does not give his heart and sole to issues, but looks for what his position will do for him and how it place him in the polls"

This about one of the major Democratic politicians that stood up to not only the Republicans, but his own party, and stood with the progressives to fight NAFTA and the corporate takeover of the Democratic party, and you think he follows the polls?

Short memory?
