We are blessed with two terrific potential nominees.

I mean no disrespect for the candidates other than Dean and Clark, but the truth is that these are the guys who have MOVED the people on DU. This time last year, it was a virtual wasteland of hope. The mid-term elections were a bust (thankfully Landrieu came through), the war was full steam ahead, and we had to hear daily about our "popular" president.

I don't actually think that people on DU are that far to the left of the general population. What many are are total political junkies who probably watch more cable news than is healthy. The truth is that if a candidate can't get people HERE excited about their candidacy, what hope do they have of getting a reaction out of the generally disinterested members of the Democratic Party?

I feel that we are totally blessed to have Governor Howard Dean and General Wesley Clark as Democratic nominees. Can you imagine what the campaign would be like without them? This time last year I didn't think I'd have ONE candidate to get excited about and now I have two.

Dean or Clark. I won't pick one over the other and I wish I could have both.

1. My faith has been restored
We have LOTS of great candidates. It makes me proud to be a Democrat!

:dem:

We need 435 more of them down Pennsylvania Avenue and we'll be all set!

3. Al Sharpton and Dennis Kucinich
I'll be voting for Rev. Al in the Democratic primary. No Justice, No Peace!

5. Yep. Great. Both are
winners. Kucinich wins my vote for the most Wellstonian. I would like to see him in a Dean/Clark, Clark/Dean cabinet.

15. I like Al's rhetoric, but the fact is he is a blessing to the Republicans.

4. We can have both. We just need to convince Clark that...
...Vice President is still REALLY important. Hell, let him scratch the "Vice" off his nameplate, I don't care. So long as he's Dean's VP nominee.

Later.

6. I don't believe that Clark would say no to the VP spot.
He would put service to the country first and foremost.

10. Bucket of warm spit
You're right, I think Clark would put country first but he's too talented to put in such a do nothing position. He'd serve better as Secretary of State, where he can really undo a lot of the mess we've gotten into.

14. If it would help get a Democrat elected, I think he'd do it.
If the thinking was to give "weight" to the ticket, I believe he'd suck it up and do it. The man is wildly talented and would do great in almost any position. Can you imagine him as Secretary of Defense?

12. Sorry, here on campus...
...we did a little video about Dean/Clark getting elected and Clark scratching "Vice" on his nameplate and scotch-taping "Supreme Allied Commander President" over the whole thing. Little joke to the fellow people who frequent here, lol.

Later.
