Poll question: What should Howard Dean's tax-proposal be?
Howard Dean currently says he would repeal all of Bush's tax-cuts, including those which affect the middle-class.

1. any change now would only make him look more foolish
besides he's counting on ALL those dollars to pay for stuff.

He made that bed, he'll have to lie in it now. That one alone makes him unelectable in the General Election.

4. Kucinich orignally said he would reverse Bush's tax-cuts
Kucinich orignally said he would reverse Bush's tax-cuts, and then came up with a proposal which reverses some of them, leaves some, and adds some.

Dean could make a proposal tomorrow which reverses some of Bush's tax-cuts and not others.

2. He was running for president back in 2002. Shouldn't he have had
that figured out BEFORE he decided to run?

Why does someone run if they don't think their ideas and principles are exactly what the nation needs? How is it so easy to change those values in an election year and why are so many putting faith in such ungrounded values?

5. folks, this one is non-negotiable for Dean
if you don't like the position, there are other candidates who see it differently.

Dean has spoken, there is no going back.

7. Whatever policy HAS to take on the half trillion year debts
that bushie has started to accrue. If this can be done with just reversing the tax cuts at the top, then so be it. If it requires reversing the tax cuts at lower levels, then so be it. For most of us the "cuts" were rather small. If they will prevent our economy from collasping (because debt levels are so high that foreign investors that are now consuming a HIGH level of our debt financing that if they were to stop buying - we would begin to see serious reprecussions.), then it is what has to be done.

The myopic view of individuals - that THEIR taxes shouldn't change - regardless of it needs to be done to secure our economy, is very short sighted. We have NEVER seen the level of debt financing that is going on now. We are shifting huge levels of debt to future tax payers (our kids) - either they will be paying huge tax levels (or we could pay a small amount now) - or there will simply be an erosion of almost all government services (ie., hurray for having to fund all roads through tolls!)

I hope that whoever the next president is - they have a good grasp of macro economics and the requirements for long-term fiscal solvency.

9. Flip flop AGAIN???
He's already waffled around on this and finally decided to be firmly for repealing all the Bush tax cuts. Now you're suggesting he flip flop? I can't understand why people don't choose a candidate who is supporting the things they want. It's not like there's not alot of options available or anything.

10. Not a fair choice!

Dean's true proposal is clear and on record, to those who are interested.

http://www.deanforamerica.com/site/PageServer?pagename=policy_statement_economy_taxreform

Dean would:

A) Reverse all of the Bush Tax Cuts to fund education, balance the budget, and help meet our obligations to Medicare and SocSec.

B) Set out to reform the Fed Tax Code, close Corporate loopholes, and enforce current legislation to collect uncollected tax dollars.

The ultimate goal would be to relieve some of the tax burden from the middles class, balance the budget, and cut debt.

All of which would BENEFIT the middle class.

Your choices are incomplete and-as such-more than a bit unfair.
