US confirmed that it had adopted tough new tactics to ferret out guerillas
Edited on Tue Dec-09-03 12:38 AM by lebkuchen
Mods, this is not a repost of the "tough new tactics" attempted last month, or the "tough new tactics" tried the months before that.

http://msnbc.com/news/870749.asp?0cv=CB10

Defense officials confirmed Monday that that the United States had adopted tough tactics against guerrillas in Iraq, arresting relatives of insurgents and destroying houses used to plan attacks against American troops.
The officials denied the move was modeled on hard-nosed tactics used by Israeli forces in Gaza and the West Bank, despite visits by U.S. military officers to Israel this year to discuss urban combat with Israel Defense Forces.

Comment: What's tougher than a smart bomb?

Here's my idea: remove all the US door-kicker-inners and put in special ops to quietly op-sec their way to the guerrillas. The US soldiers killed/injured by drive-bys were probably attacked by pissed-off fishermen whose family was shamed by "tough new tactics." Those tactics are NOT working.

1. Just a quick story to cool off the worry back home
If there was a way to control guerrilas then Vietnam, Cuba, and the like would all be under the rule of their first world aggresors.

2. Videos of your kids being "interrogated" by Boykins boys

may be considered tougher than a smart bomb to some Iraqi parents.

The US is the acknowledged leader in human rights, and sets the standards.

Currently over 130,000 US nationals are deployed outside the US.

The regime chooses not to employ special protection for the wives and children of its gunmen.
