Fake Turkey Edition
This week's Top Ten Conservative Idiots includes the report that Bush used a "fake" turkey as a prop. The Washington post story referenced in the report implies that the turkey was fake but doesn't say so explicitly. I have been reprimanded for jumping to conclusions about the turkey, to wit: You libs are always spreading lies. How do you know the turkey was fake?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A33090-2003Dec3.html

It seems obvious to me that Bush's handlers wouldn't leave it to chance that he might pick up an unappealing turkey. These are the people who moved an aircraft carrier a mile out to sea so the camera wouldn't show the San Diego Coast. They would certainly use food cosmetics to enhance the appearance of the turkey.

That turkey may have started out in life as an ordinary bird, but the prop that Bush presented to the camera was certainly fake. There's no doubt that it was inedible.

3. If these "table decorations" were real turkeys
what's to keep the guys from slicing off some real meat rather than the cardboard stuff they were served?

4. My guess would be
A 320-pound mess sergeant.
John
And some heavily-armed Secret Service agents. Sharp knives make them antsy. Especially of late.
