I like that he's an MD and he's from Vermont - Early DU Dean threads
Edited on Tue Dec-09-03 01:22 PM by soleft
It took a little digging but I was able to find the first words that I ever posted on DU about Howard Dean. That was May 27, 2002. I think the Vermont thing referred to the Civil Unions laws, and the MD impressed me because I assumed he'd have a few more firing synapses that the current occupant of the White House.

Also linked below are a few other very early Dean threads in the summer of 02, as well as an early endorsement for Gore which shows just have far we've come in a year and a half.

1. Breakthrough
And when the Des Moines Register headlined a small story about Dean's visit, "Vermont governor blasts GOP drug plan," Dean remarked, "It will be a breakthrough for me when my name is well-enough known that they can use it in a headline."

Hmmm, is there any headline concerning the primary that doesn't contain Dean?
