Remember when Lieberman went on TV and endorsed Repub idea....
of counting military votes, even if they were not postmarked on time? And that could have been the difference in Florida? Do you think he talked with Gore before he went on TV and blew it? It was later shown that some of the ballots were actually filled out after the election and mailed in, at the request of the Republican Party. How does Lieberman explain that?

1. Yup, Joe was a dead weight on that campaign, and he's a dead weight
to the Democratic Party now.

3. Lieberman as Veep was Gore's biggest blunder
I remember that the only reason why Gore chose Lieberman was because Lieberman condemned Clinton for "Monica-Gate" during the Impeachment proceedings, and the media was basically fawning over Clinton in the months leading up to the convention (there were times when Clinton got more coverage by the media than Gore!). Still, he could've chosen Graham or Edwards and had gotten the same results in distancing himself.

5. Gore chose him because he thought he could carry the Jewish vote
in Florida. He was right about that but we know the rest of the story.

6. I think the main reason Gore chose Lieberman is that Gore
I think the main reason Gore chose Lieberman is that Gore believed he needed to distance himself from the Monica-Lewinsky scandal, and that Lieberman's criticism of Clinton accomplished that.

It's disgusting how Lieberman supported counting illegal ballots cast AFTER the election by soldiers.

7. Lieberman with the military votes, Kerry with the IWR: OBTUSE
that's the only word for it... Both could not see the obvious in front of their very eyes.... Unfortunatey we paid the price, along with them.

8. You make a valid point. How strategic was that thinking?
Lieberman has a right to stay in to the bitter end but I don't see him adding anything to the debate.

9. not to defend Joe...
....and believe me, I don't, but he was hoodwinked into that admission by Fat Tim Russert, who obviously was acting on behalf of the Bush team. Again, Joe should have realized what he was dealing with when he went on Meet the Whore Press and not gotten sucked into Russert's agenda, but it was pretty much a lose-lose proposition.
That being said, I am so sick of Joe Lieberman and his whining, and I think Gore owes him nothing.
