2. Gore said the war on Iraq was the worst catastrophic event in our

two hundred year old history (worst foreign policy decision ever made). He said this in response to those who say Dean has no foreign policy experience. Gore said Dean was the only major candidate who spoke out against the war, and that is what he was listening to hear.

Dean called Gore the moral leader of our Country. This is exactly what I had just told my Republican brother in Miami was Gore's function in our Country now. Eerie to hear Dean say that shortly thereafter.

The picture of Dean and Gore together on the stage in Iowa was a very powerful sight.

i still love al gore.

what dean is doing is what gore was moving towards at the end of his campign in 2000, viz., kindle a populist grass roots movement to challenge the party structure.

no wonder he was attacked in 2001-2 by the power brokers in the democratic party

gore sees what dean is doing and wants to help reshape the party to be more responsive to the average person.

if dean wins the election, i expect al gore to be the democratic national chairman, then watch out, we will see a grass roots revival in the democratic party that will be remarkable

funny, most politicians move to the right with age, al gore is moving to the left, or perhaps for one who worked on his '88 tennessee camapign, just decided to show what he really felt deep inside.

one of the great tragedies of the american republic is that al gore will not become an american president.

12. Funny thing about being President of the United States ...

I used to think that was the most powerful office in the world until George Bush* starting squatting in the White House. I believe the office has been so denigrated by the events since the 2000 election, it will take some doing to restore it to what it once was. It has become apparent with Gore speeches, and the passion they have stirred, that the truly important thing in the United States today is the power and ability to move a people in the right direction, to do the right thing, to strive towards positive goals and to elevate those among us who are not as fortunate as we to the heights we ourselves have achieved. This is what Al Gore is espousing today, and these themes are collectively more important than the gray shadows cast off by the Oval Office occupied by George Bush*.

Perhaps Dean with Gore's help can truly restore the dignity to the Office which Bush, with Renquist's, et al's, help totally desecrated.

The best part about Gore not running is that he is totally free to say whatever he thinks without repercussion. He has absolutely nothing to lose. Additionally, no can accuse him of simply playing politics. It is obvious Gore despises Bush* because Bush* deserves it. It's sort of like people commenting on the Bush haters and not asking, what has Bush* done to provoke all this hate. Anyone who tuned in tonight and heard Al Gore knows the answer to this question now (if they were clueless before).

watching the endorsement, it wasn't congrats for Dean (I felt that too don't get me wrong), but more seeing this Al Gore up there made me feel sad, angry and bitter. HE SHOULD BE THE Pres. At the same time I ended up comparing and contrasting the two. please don't get me wrong, I support what Dean is saying, but it just doesn't grab me the way Al was able to.

but then again, this is the new, or real, or SNL or Moveon Al. not the Al that ran in 2000.

13. This is not a new Al Gore

it's the same guy I have watched for 25 years or more. He's a fascinating, complex guy who is multi-faceted. Sometimes when people observe a different side to him, especially the cynics, we hear about the new Al Gore. Al Gore was always a liberal who cast sometimes conservative votes because he represented a very conservative constituency. He's always been a very bright man with an ability to impress. I will always admire and respect him whether he's the president or simply Al Gore.

I'd like to say Gore rocks the house ... but what I really want to say is WHERE WAS THAT AL GORE DURING CAMPAIGN 2000? Don't get me wrong ... Al Gore is the real president and all. But where was the forcefulness we're seeing now? The guts?

If he'd been like this in 2000 (and if he'd quit listening to stupid, self-centered Naomi Wolf), he'd have taken so many extra voters that they would have offset the butterfly ballot, the GOP shenanigans, the Bush Crime Family thefts and the disenfranchised voters in Florida.

Sorry, Al ... but that's how I feel.

And P.S. Al ... I'm pissed that you endorsed Dean today. We're officially screwed. Unfortunately, I believe Dean can't beat the Chimp ... and the real president gave him his imprimatur today. *sigh* I hope I'm forced to eat my words. I really do.
