As Lieberman veered further and further to the right, he abandoned what Gore stood for. Gore did what any thinking man would, he put his support behind the candidate that HE believed was best for the job.

According to a Democrat close to Gore, the former vice president had placed calls to Lieberman and his staff once word was leaked Monday that he planned to endorse Dean, but the calls were not returned.

Gore can endorse who ever he wants- and the word you're looking for is 'cope', as in 'you need to cope with this better than you have to this point'.

It's one endoresement- if the other candidates are worthwhile, they'll figure out a way to overcome it- without resorting the the GOP tactic of smearing the source.

25. LIEberman betrayed all Americans in 2000

when he went along with the buschco election theft in the counting of bogus military votes.

Does anyone but me remember that horrible weekend in late Nov. when Marc Racicot and Karen Hughes in a press conference on Sat afternoon (the day after the Fl Supremes made the decision to allow the recount to continue), accused Gore of treason for not counting the military votes. They even paraded the old stooge, Swartzkoph out, to reiterate the claim. This was an act of desperation by bushco - they had to stop the recount someway.

Then, on Sun. morning, Holy Joe shows up on Meet The Press, whining about the military votes and making the decision to let the fraud proceed unabated.

That's when I realized Joe LIEberman was stabbing Gore in the back, as were IMHO, quite a few other people.
