2. The passion.
I saw Joe speak at the Florida Convention on Sunday. He had about as much passion and excitement as a bowl of cold oatmeal. I'd already paid for a ticket for Sunday Brunch ($50) where he would speak and answer questions. I gave it away, drove back to Clearwater and ordered a pizza.

He's always been a Repuke in Dem clothing as far as I'm concerned. He sits on commitees and foundations with Ralph Reed and other wing nuts. His defining moment in his speech was banning violent video games.

Go home Joe.:wtf:

3. It isn't THAT bad, and it IS news here
I am in Connecticut, with the Courant right in front of me. First, there really is only one paper here. Tribune Media Company owns the major dailies, the "alternative" weeklies, and three of the television stations. They LOVE Bush.

But face it...Joe is our state senator. I would move to Swaziland before I'd vote for Joe, and most people I know here feel the same way. But the fact that he is our senator, just dissed by his former running mate...gosh, what did you expect the Connecticut papers to do?

5. CT papers could face the truth that Lieberman is out of his league
and report that it was Lieberman, not Gore, who backstabbed first.

They could also have gone back and read Gore's speeches and op eds to see that Gore and Lieberman were farther apart philosophically than Lieberman claimed and noticed that Gore's philosophy was becoming closer to Dean's.

I'm not surprised that Gore endorsed Dean. I was only surprised at the timing. Gore's speeches since last year showed that he was not happy with the state of the Democratic Party and its leadership. Dean became Gore's spokesman on the ill health of Dem leadership as much as he became his supporters's voice.

6. Some have...
The Hartford Courant (a Tribune Co) had a lengthy magazine article a few months back on why Joe Lieberman will never be president.

I did not read it back then, but even then I knew it was true.

4. Lieberman owes Gore a debt of gratitude.
The single reason that Lieberman even has the polling numbers he has at this moment is because Gore chose him as a running mate in 2000. Lieberman has no appeal of his own to the democratic base throughout the country and has rode the coattails of election 2000 to where he is now. Lieberman was never more than a means to an end for Gore. It was born out of a need to distance himself from the perceived sins of the Clinton administration. It's too bad that Lieberman was too vain and foolish to recognise that and thought himself to be the undisputed heir to Gore in 2004, but the truth hurts.
