But I want to know the real 411 on what the difference is. Is Gore DLC or DNC? Where to the Clintons weigh in?

1. Glad you asked because DUers did massive research last year.

This is Eloriel's master DLC research thread. It links to several other very long threads. Every bit of it is very important reading to anyone who is interested in why so many of us are so intent on taking the party back from the DLC ... and why almost all of us despise Lieberman.

We started looking at this when we were trying to figure out why so many supposedly liberal Democrats (like Hilary, Feinstein and Kerry whose voters were pleading with them to vote against the resolution) voted for it while speaking out of both sides of their mouths about what it allowed * to do.

We also couldn't figure out why senior Democrats like Graham, Durbin , Byrd and about 20 others, who had exactly the same inside information, voted it down. What was the difference between the two groups of Democrats? It turned out that the difference was that all of the first group belonged to the DLC while all but one (Stabenow of Michigan) who voted against the IRW were NOT members.
