Wait 'til the panic sets in....
with Bush and the Repubs. They've been confident that they are going to sweep the next election up to this point. I sense they may be coming just a bit concerned. They hear all the negative comments from the Repubs , such as on C-SPAN, just as we do. If they lose any of their base, they are up the creek without a paddle. Unlike the Democrats, who can lose almost 3 million votes and still win the popular vote, the Repubs don't have that luxury. Coupled with the fact that Howard Dean and other Dems are bringing in new voters to our Party, it is just a matter of time before the panic sets in.

When it does, you will notice a shift in the partisanship of the House and Senate. You will see the Repubs start to get all the goodies possible passed in a hurry. Taxcuts and more taxcuts. Big breaks for big business. When you see them frantically trying to pass such legislation, you will know they are in the panic mode.

1. First stage = attacks
Gillespie has already started in with the attacks on Dean, which is great news. Though immoral and lacking in perspective, these are smart people and they see the writing on the wall.

2. That's the spirit !
I'm on the sunny side w/ you, kentuck.

All hand wringing does is keep 'em from doing something productive.

And all bashing other dem candidates does is provide Hannity, et al's script in the day's to follow.

6. I should have been more clear....
When they start being challenged and they cannot use raw power anymore, they start talking about "non-partisanship" and "cooperation"...

4. They can delay the elections indefinately
if there is any "percieved threat to national security" under the Patriot Act.

So, let's not let them get too scared just yet. Stealthy like an invisible ninja I say. That way, no martial law.

7. Behind all the rhetoric
and the smoke & mirrors, the fact is that the repugs have not expanded their appeal one bit. Everything else is just window dressing.

8. Their arrogance and self-rightousness was always are best weapon.
We just have to foster it, becuase people like to see arrogant self-serving winners go down hard.
