http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/politics/7204020.htmThe first debate between the 2004 presidential nominees will be held on the University of Miami's Coral Gables campus next Sept. 30, assuring that the state that proved pivotal in the last race for the White House will play a key role in the next.
University officials learned Thursday that the Commission on Presidential Debates, which has produced every presidential and vice-presidential debate since 1988, chose the University of Miami; Washington University in St. Louis, and Arizona State University in Tempe from among 14 applicants to host the three debates.
''We asked for the first debate and got the first debate,'' said UM President Donna Shalala. ``That's the one everybody watches. The whole world is going to be watching on Sept. 30.''...

The debates are in the 3 out of the 4 most populous 2000 red swingstates. That's a good thing right? If the nominee is Clark or Edwards it is.
